Frequently Asked Questions

  • Basically, it's a super comprehensive approach to healthcare, mainly for people who are pregnant, giving birth, and in the postpartum period, but also for general sexual and reproductive health, gyn care, and family planning throughout your life. Midwives, like Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs), are independent healthcare providers who guide you through everything, even caring for your healthy newborn in those first few weeks. They're all about empowering you and providing personalized care in all sorts of settings, from your home to a hospital, and they welcome everyone no matter their color, orientation, or religion.

  • A labor monitrice is a unique birth support professional who blends the continuous emotional and physical support of a doula with clinical skills often seen in midwives or nurses. They can monitor your vitals, check the baby's heartbeat, and assess labor progress, making them incredibly helpful for those who want to labor at home for an extended period before heading to a hospital or birth center. While they don't replace your primary medical provider, a monitrice offers an extra layer of reassurance and expertise, especially beneficial for first-time parents, those planning a VBAC, or anyone desiring a natural birth experience with added monitoring.

  • During your 1-hour consultation, we'll dive deep into your overall health, wellness, lifestyle, and your current pregnancy journey. This is a chance for us to truly understand your personal goals for your pregnancy, labor, and birth. You'll have plenty of time to ask questions and get any concerns addressed, so you can feel confident in your decisions. It's also an opportunity for us to see if our services are the perfect fit for what you're looking for, ensuring we can create a positive and supportive experience together.
